Nicely done. ;)

I really don't know why they bother - they should just give every kid an 'A' grade, it doesn't make a jot of difference to the job market or number of kids now applying for university.

Tell that to my daughter working diligently at the mounds of homework...there is such a thing as kids wanting to do well and having pride in their work, it does make a difference, though I would fooking ban homework if I was in charge.

You would think so, but again, based on the number of angry parents who can't get there kids all into the same first choice school - ie. the most local white one - then I'm afraid the evidence provides a different conclusion.

I mean statistically the impoverished family are more likely to be happy with the one, where everyone feels valued all the teachers smile. And you don't get excluded for taking a shit on the school cormorant.

The thrusting white, flight types want the school with a 134% GCSE A*** pass rate. And you get shot for taking a shit on the school cormorant.

Not to mention some parents just don't want their kids to be smarter and more succesful than themselves.

I think, as you are her mother, it really is your duty to tell her that there isn't much of a future and studying is for nerds. ;) :P

Of course, I'm from the generation when we had to do proper 'O' and 'A' Levels and bloody difficult they were to boot. And we didn't have a wealth of information instantly accessible from an Internet.

(P.S. I hope your daughter does very well with her studies)

Poo, I thought that was one less messy job for me to do ;)

Please, Please, Please make this happen. I can't make head nor tail of my daughters homework. She had to create a title page for 'What is History?', surely a title page is a sheet of paper with 'What is History?' written on it. Oh no, you have to draw pictures, put in speech bubbles, have it signed by Simon Scharma and cleared by the Oxford exam board of wasting my bloody time.

The kids homework is designed to make us feel even more inadequate...I say we stage a dirty protest.

My daughters came home and said they had to write a 'blurb' ?
Turns out it was a precis.
FFS!

A load of flannel, it really gets my goat.

I had the meaning of life question from my nine year old a while ago, he said 'why are we here? we eat stuff and we do stuff and then we die'

Be worried? Huh?

I know, this is my fourth and I still can't get the hang of these teaching methods. Why do they need homework, if your a builder do you have to go home and build an extension. Or does an estate agent have to be an irritating greedy bastard twenty four seven, bad example. Why can't they finish school and finish, if they can't teach them properly in the perscribed hours then they're crap at their jobs.
