He doesn't take flowers as in all the scenarios he creates a scenario where she recieves them.
Butthat's a very interesting scenario and one I was toying with. In many ways it works on my preference for 2 tropes.

In the unlikely event anyone ever wanted to draw or film this I'd probably go with that version.
