I have a feeling that Peter Mannion may well become my favourite character.
Watched the fist episode. Peter Mannion is pretty good. It will good to see all the old characters in the next episode though.
Loved the Twix line.
Enjoyed it, though the lack of a single MP that is the focus, as we usually have, seemed to count against it a little bit to me. Still, it was very funny.
Looking forward to seeing all the old characters next week, though. And Tony Gardner, yay!

As predictable as this might sound, the lack of Malcolm Tucker in the first episode produced a lack of immediacy and drama that made the show so enjoyable. Without the constant threat of an explosion from the foul mouthed monster, the programme seemed to lack energy and the casual swearing from the others seemed misplaced and redundant.
Like watching an episode of Fawlty Towers without Basil.

I tend to agree. You really felt the lack of Tucker. And the episode itself felt a bit Thick Of It By Numbers with the obligatory policy launch that goes disasterously wrong. That said, still very enjoyable, especially Manion's cringeworthy press conference.
Looking forward to the A-Team back next week, with Nicola Murray as the leader of the opposition.
Could someone explain to this idiot the whole Mr Tickle thing? Was that something that was actually resolved in this episode or is it likely to be an ongoing issue?
