I still stand by my comment that there are millions of them.
Much more than most sitcoms.

You stick to your guns, girl.
I love this show as much as I love the baby cheeses!
Luke: "Why did you have oil?"
Phil: "Because, buddy, we were...making french fries!"
Quote: zooo @ December 11 2011, 11:43 PM GMTIt's just brilliant. There are no weak characters.
I've only just started watching this, and I like it (some of it a lot), but I do think Phil Dunphy is a very weak character, a two-dimensional cliché, and far too much like David Brent.
They could save money by replacing him with a punch bag.
I thought that, but if you watch them all he is extremely amusing and may even be the best character.
I love Modern Family.
I agree some of the episodes in series 3 have not been as good as previous one's.
But overall I think it's a great show, good characters and it makes me laugh which is the main thing...

(David Brent?)
I wasn't sure about Phil at first. But the more you watch the more you will appreciate and love him, and see just how indispensable he is. I promise.

Him, Manny and fat gay one are bestest.
I like best both gay ones, Phil, Luke, and sometimes Alex.
Jay is bestest. "Why is that something we have to do?"
Dan
Some episodes, mainly season openers and closers are so funny, so many gags and so layered. However I do think that are some real stinkers midseason and I agree with Graham Lineham ( probaly spelt wrong)when he said in an interview that he doesn't like how it always ends all happy and huggy. But although derivative Phil is played so well.

True zooo(and Teddy), his character did nothing for me at first, but I've got no problems with him now. Only seen season1 so far though.

From what I've seen, they tend to subvert the happy huggy ending to provide a final ironic gag.

Rarely, they usually end with all huggs and lessons and a joke, but the ironic gags ended season 1.
Love this show. Great characters, great gags, great acting. Nuff said.
