Part Works

We've all seen these adverts for Part Works on TV. There's a new one to build a Sailing Ship called the "The Sovereign of the Seas". Part 1 only £1.99.

In the paper earlier this week they'd calculated it will take over two and a half years to complete at a cost of over £800.

Has anyone started one of these collections and then given up when it goes on and on and on...?

Really they are a terrible con. Should they be made illegal or is it down to the individual? They never complete the collection so it's all money down the drain.

I've got one somewhere I was given on unexplained mysteries or something. I should dig it out. It might be worth something.

Same could be said for many things.

Every year, together with most other boys in the school, I started the football sticker album. Never ever completed it, most didn't either. The only ones that did, on reflection, we're those likely to have stolen their stickers from the newsagent.

I did the De Agostini Carry On Collection and all the spines make up into a collage of their faces plus magazines about each film and binders.

Aaron has offered me £3500 for it so far but I'm sticking out for a Wagon Wheel as well (not the jammy version).

Wagon wheels are really small now. Or my mouth's just got really big.

When I was a lad in the 60s it took two of us to carry one out of the shop.
