Online bullying Page 6

According to my good friend Wikipedia, the UK doesn't even have a legal definition for bullying. So therefore, it doesn't exist in this country. ;)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullying

As for which is the best kind of bullying - emotional, verbal or physical - I've seen loads of Van Damme movies and not once do the fellow prisoners club together to make up Tweets to destroy his confidence.

But Van Damme and the other characters in these movies have an IQ of about 50 and emotional sensitiviy of a concrete bloc.

You just cyber bullied Van Damme you rotter!

Is someone going to run with that set up and deliver the punchline it's begging for..? Laughing out loud ;)

Hey, he has a reality soap on ITV...he wants publicity of all kinds.

Go for it, my son! :D

You're calling him a slut?

You know you're just making it worse for yourself.

Better not, it may constitute cyber bullying. :(

What is your point actually RC?

My point has been the same from the start, online bullying is fairly minor compared to the number of people on the Internet, real life bullying is much more terrible, physical bullying is worse then online bullying.

The media is concentrating on online bullying because it induces the usual techno-fear responses in it's readers / viewers. Whenever a vulnerable teenager kills himself / herself, the blame is put on the Internet and not the bullies. Bullying has been around since before the world wide web.

I'm not even going to get into the reality / talent / quiz show formats that justify and celebrate bullying and humiliating people, because people on this forum enjoy them way too much.

Yes, so much different to real life murderers and gangsters in prison. ;)

Real life/online, it's the same thing for a lot of kids. And one is often just an addition to the other, so that these kids don't even feel safe in their own home. It's ALL bad, it should all be addressed, who cares what part the media looks at.

Why? Will he beat the shit out of me...or worse, write a film about me and play the main role? ;)
Anyway, I wasn't exactly bullying Van Damme (although it's tempting). I was making a comment on the movie premise by RC.

And there is the insightful BCG revelation I've been waiting for. ;)
