Best News at Ten episode

What's your favourite episode of the News at Ten?

Mine would have to be 28th June 1990
The Gulf build up allowed Trevor Macdonald to display his usual gravitas but with Gazzas tears at the end the final sports bit was a delight.

In fact the whole 1990 series was a cracker definitely my favourite.
Have they released it on DVD yet? I think it will be worth buying just for the commentaries.

Laughing out loud

Haha! Brilliant

not as good as OFAH

I found the Princess Diana dead in a French tunnel episode to be overly sentimental and maudlin.

No, I wrote it off, got a great pay out though, a king's ransom.

The Diana News at Ten was, in my humble opinion, old hat by that stage of the day.

Even allowing for time differences, the tragedy took place at at bad time for most mediums. It was a totally selfish act, as far as the media was concerned, to stage it at that time.

The furore afterwards though dwarfed other news items and took peoples' attention away from any othe part of the media.

Funnily enough I did respond to the follwing ad in the Evening Standard a couple of days later and snapped up a real bargain.

'15 yr old Fiat Uno, slight wing damage. Red. very recent re-spray, LH drive. Elderly gentleman owner. Only ever used for 'taking out' family members.Bargain.

The Jimmy Savile stuff was quite funny at first but their flogging a dead horse now

I'm waiting for the whole boxset to come out on Bluray.

The out takes on the last box set were priceless!

Julia Somerville doesn't realize the cameras are back on her and she calls Harriet Harmon a "frigid old twat"
