Can you recall this sitcom?

All I can remember is the theme tune was 'You're My Baby' by Ian Dury and the opening credits were pop art renderings of the cast. 1990s or early 2000s.
That's it! I hope someone can help, this has been driving me potty for years!

I can't think of it at all...can only remember him singing the theme to Adrian Mole.

I think I must have seen just about every sitcom from the early 2000s, but cannot picture such a title sequence at all, nor do I recognise the song. Do you recall anything else at all, Erica? Even the vaguest inkling as to what some of the cast may have looked like? The lyrics of the song suggest that a sitcom using it may have been centred around a young family or single parent?

1999's Starting Out by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran perhaps?

Ian Dury did sing Profoundly in love with Pandora which was Adrian Mole.

Well, I don't know if this will help ... or even if it's accurate.

When I went to YouTube and listened to the You're My Baby, I immediately knew I'd seen a situation comedy with this theme. I just can't remember the name or the names of the actors, although I can picture them.

The main character is a quirky young woman who is engaged to a very stuffy young man who, I believe is her boss. It's a corporate office type environment. She meets a very different kind of young man ina pub and starts an affair with him. I think her mother is a hairdresser... or someone's mother.

I remember that I really enjoyed it when it was aired here in Canada but that there weren't many episodes.

My memory may be linking unrelated things, so hope this isn't a red herring.

:) Yeah Adrian Mole aged 13 no half- Sue Townsend.

The only other is 'Educating Marmalade'?

This sounds like Starting Out http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0187667/

Yes, that's absolutely the show I was thinking of.... and the IMDB site lists Ian Dury re: music.

The female lead is Siobhan Hayes -- thanks, now I know her name -- and the cast includes Chris Jury (Lovejoy).
