Writing for Newsrevue Page 8

There's a difference between creating a whole new thread for one random point, and an existing thread going off-topic! :P

Hi Phill, Thanks for sharing. You should consider being a teacher, thanks to the advice in these links I wrote a sketch and have now been invited to write for one of the topical stage shows on a regular basis. So cheers!

jacparov do you mean you've been added to the writers' list or actually given a job?

Congratulations either way :)

Just added to the writers list! I know it isn't much but any encouraging news is a boost to a fledgling writer such as myself. They could of told me to f**k off after all. :)

I think its a great credit to have on your CV, forget about the money. Keeps you developing your skills too. Well done, I'm going to give them both a go too.

I've not heard any more but I guess that was never really likely. It's great to hear that people are getting material accepted but I wanna know about me!!!

I JUST WANNA TO KNOW! Cool

Tuumble if you've submitted a sketch performed or not you should be getting a running order. If your not check with them or send another sketch in and if nothing happens within a week or so ask to be added. If you've put the effort in the least you should know is if your stuff has made it.

I've sent 5 sketches so far but the first only went in last Thursday so I wouldn't have got a running order yet I guess. If it doesn't turn up after a week I'll perhaps ask.

Yes that is a bit soon. Wait a bit before you go rattling a cage then! Also if yours doesn't get in the first run don't be to down hearted. Sketches are turned pretty quick and if your on the bench yours might be called on before full time.

Another tip (sorry if it has already been mentioned) is to use well known songs if you write parodies.

When do they usually send out the running order?
