Red Dwarf X Page 7

I just started watching series 8 on DVD...I found the first two episodes cringeworthy. I mean, the show was always walking on the thin line between cleverness and childish silliness, but charmingly so. But what I've seen so far was crap...and why did they have to destroy a really cool running gag: the extra long version of Rimmer's military salute (in its normal form a hilarous sight gag) was not in the least funny but leaves a bad aftertaste to the initial gag! This makes serie 7 a masterpiece of comedy and drama.
But: Kochansky, or Chloe Annett with her long blond(ish) hair was suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper gorgeous. Say what you want about the Kochansky character, but Chloe is a saucy tart!!
But anyway, I'm very looking forward to Red Dwarf X, maybe they get back on the right track (although I very much doubt it).

Blonde? I remember her being brunette. And rubbish. (But probably because they wrote her badly and the character had no business being there, rather than anything personal against the actress.)

http://www.oocities.org/area51/lair/2548/images/kochanski2.jpg ...I^d say brunette with blondish nuances.

I agree, the character had no business being there. But they desperately had to fill the gap Rimmer's absence tore into the show. That was a hard task.
And: Kochansky was always a bit of a mistery. Lister's dream woman he idealised her and maybe the viewer did that too. Bringing her in full time destroyed that aspect...but hey, they also destroyed the military salute-gag.

Yes, I liked the first Kochansky. And the fact that she existed, but was almost a mythical being.

You could call that realism. You have an idealised person or a certain goal in life and when you reach it it doesn't seem that glamurous, sexy or fullfilling anymore. You lose your drive a bit...that's ok. But this isn't the real world...it's a sitcom. They writer(s) shouldn't tinker with such elementary things in a show. The same with the premise of Lister being the only human being in the universe. They also killed that aspect in series 8. So, Kochansky/Annett isn't the one who has to take the whole blame.

I see, so she had already a history in sci-fi before she joined the Red Dwarf crew. She could have also portrayed Eva Braun as far as I'm concerned...that lovely creature (Chloe, not Eva)! Laughing out loud
