... and how did it work out for you?
Just wondering, plenty of people look for writing partners on here but has anyone actually got anything going/kept it going and have you had any success?

I met a guy on here I still work with. (We each do our own thing but always have a project or two together on the boil) That's worked out well on a few things. We only started working together because he'd been posting work on here that I liked, so I contacted him; rather than the more random 'Hey, I write, anyone want to write with me?' threads that you get on here sometimes.
Yes.
We worked together for about a year.
It's a good way to get started, as it helps overcome the loneliness and lack of self-confidence that can happen when starting out on this writing lark.
In almost every successful business partnership that has ever existed, both partners went to bed every night thinking "That bastard's getting half the money when it's me that has most of the talent and me that's doing most of the work."
Partnerships are great while you're poor.
It's when you start making a few bob that the knives come out.
Think about it.

Yes but more by accident.
It's like a nudist camp. If you run up and yell you want to look at someone's genitalia you'll get no interest.
Wait till someone quietly checks out your package and then smile politely.

Divide and rule?
A partnership (writing, marital or otherwise) can be the making of both parties. The whole can sometimes be many times the sum of its parts.
But successful writing partnerships are very much rarer than successful marriages - and we all know how rare successful marriages are!
