My silent comedian

Hi all,

I am a longtime fan of silent comedy. I also work as an animator, and I have spent my free time working on a character based on classic physical comedy. Floyd the Android has shown in 40 film festivals, and has won a few awards. I am happy to share the films with you.

Both can be seen here: https://vimeo.com/31339683

Thank you for your time.

Nice one, sir!

Really nice animations with some tasty visual styling. Despite the android aspect, the second animation in particular clearly remains in keeping with the whole Harold Lloyd vibe.

While I very much like the original silents from the 20s, I tend to find modern ones annoying and/or sinister (I really can't stand Mr Bean for instance) but these worked very well.

Good stuff.

Have a cup of tea.

Thank you very much.

In "Dim Bulb", on the corner of one of the buildings, I placed a clock that matches the one in "Safety Last".

I simply wanted to work in a very vertical space. A bit of trivia, though, Buster Keaton had a writer working on a story where he and a woman were stranded on the top of a tall building. Sort of like "The Navigator" on a skyscraper.

Cheers!

Liked, and shared. :)

Brilliant have you worked on anything else?

Bloody hell!

Thats amazingly smooth reminesent of early Pixar. With a very real sense of humour and impeccable timing.

And yes it has a lovely Harold Lloyd feel.

Knew I was gonna like it as soon as I heard the music.

Both of these are excellent. :)

These are excellent and a lot of fun. The first one was my favourite. Had that classic comedy feel to it. I wish you great success!

Superb, I echo everything that has been said already.

Loved them both.

Very slick...the attention to detail is incredible. Thanks for sharing and good luck with future projects. If these are anything to go by, they'll be fantastic!

I could watch those all evening, a lovely homage to the silent era, and the Android was a sweetie, I found him very endearing and loved the bulb under the hat! not easy to make a robot seem human but he was :)

Really impressive stuff there, Jonathan! What was Skywalker Sound's involvement exactly?
