Good start for the Toon, and enjoyed Pardews push on the assistant, resulting in his excellent Rambo impression. "Don't push meeee!". :D

Ba's goal was excellent, but Pardew's attempted physical intimidation of the official was totally uncalled for. I think the FA should clamp down on managers who resort to those tactics (including Wenger) as it's bringing the game into disrepute.

I think he'll quite rightly be charged, even after trying to cheekily apologise and pass it off as fun in the post-match interviews.

I can't see it being long before they are all banned permanently from the pitch area, alas. Surprised it hasn't happened yet considering some of the incidents there have been. It's bound to happen, even mild mannered coaches like Pardew are getting too steamed up by the refs and linesmen.

Some cracking results from day one - two 5 nils! And glad Newcastle beat Spurs because one, I'd like to see NU finally get something for all their good footballing efforts and entertainment they always give, and two I'd like to see the idiot Spurs chairman get what he deserves for getting rid of Harry.

Pleased with the Chelsea result- although a little too much arse-ing around from Luis as per usual.
Like he look of Hazard & Oscar.

Man City barely scraped a win today, but the game must have cheered up Alfred J Kipper no end, 7 minutes in, some no neck from the Championship tried to break Aguero's knee.

The Man Utd v Everton game hasn't really sparked to life yet. Everton have probably been the more lively of the two.

Excellent.

HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, poor start for Man U, but I wouldn't start celebrating just yet, unless you actually believe that Fulham will be top of the table come October.

The first few games of the season are always a bit dodgy as teams find their feet and get used to new formations and players. So as much as I'd like to join in with the schadenfreude, I fear it will be shortlived.

Christ, this time last year, Man U smashed us 8-2 - (shame they let in those two goals, then they wouldn't have lost the Premiership to City on the last day of the season - HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Yes but if every team raises their game for just those 2 games every season they COULD get relegated.

Go Swansea!

Now that's why Van Persie was bought!

Laughing out loud

? Are Swansea beating Manchester?

There was just a bird on the pitch that Schwarzer had to shoo away.
