Forces Veterans

INT. ROYAL BRITISH LEGION BAR, EARLY EVENING
The BARMAN is pouring a pint. RAF VETERAN is wearing a blazer with a Royal Air Force emblem on the breast and a matching tie; he is sat with two ARMY VETERANS who are discussing their Army days.

ARMY VETERAN 1
I was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal and the Africa General Service Medal with clasp for my time in Korea

ARMY VETERAN 2
I got the Meritorious Service Medal and the General Service Medal with Northern Ireland clasp

RAF VETERAN
I got the Air Force Cross............I kept turning up late for parade.

ARMY VETERANS 1 & 2 (in unison)
Twat!!

Thats a very nice pun, envious I didn't think of it.

But it can be reduced to

"I got the airforce cross, I was always late on parade."

Thank you sootyj. The reduction does indeed make it flow better.

I actually used the line when I was on a course with some ex Army lads, they didn't find it amusing.

:$

ha like it short and sweet

The queen threw a pot of paint over my head. I was decorated for bravery.
