I think the earlier use of the word 'chinky' covered that.

Chinky is not racist, it's the name of a chain of restaurants Up North. You can't miss them, they're next to the popular Paki newsagent shops, just past the Fooking Starbucks.

Did you have anything clever or interesting to demonstrate with your use of provocative language or are you just under the misapprehension that using racist slurs makes you look clever and interesting?

Oh dear Roy Chubby Brown did that joke better.

I can't imagine a greater diss.

My ironic use of racial slurs to provoke a reaction from self righteous and hypocrtical liberals is a time honoured tradition on the BCG.

And because British people are so bloody slow, I have to continually point out that making fun of Americans - a nationality made up of mostly black and hispanic people - is no longer acceptable. China are the world's number super power and most populous country, so it is time that we vented our petty jealousies towards them.

And perfectly normal people who come across some racist language and understandably think you are a cock. ;)

I hope you don't really think that defence makes sense. 'Paki' is not a word that has ever been used to express dissatisfaction with Pakistan's foreign policy or global financial domination. The same goes for the word 'chinky'. Those are words used primarily to insult and intimidate minority immigrant groups.

Hey, leave him alone, he's doing God's work.

Well obviously. But you'd have to be pretty thick to think I was actually being a proper racist. Either that or you enjoy reading verbatim out of your liberal manifesto to admonish people because you have nothing better to do or add to the conversation.

Someone who's been here a while may understand you're being ironic. But you can't go throwing words like chinky and paki about and then pretend to be upset or surprised if a lot of people come away assuming you're a massive racist with a brain the size of a pea.

Irony and R.C, come together in perfect harmony.

There's also the possibility/likelihood that potential new posters of Chinese or Pakistani (and so on) descent are coming across 'ironic' posts like that and thinking f**k this place it's full of racist twats, and buggering off. :(
Which isn't a particularly nice thought.

Ironic racism and real racism often look the same. I don't think you're a racist, but I also don't think you should use racist language because it pleases you.

The family I work for are French, and recently in the park the boy I look after was playing rough with some English boys he'd just met - the boy had enough when he got a bit hurt and decided to play elsewhere, at which point the English boys started taunting him and throwing stones at him saying "French people are cowards!" "Just like the French to run away!". Those 8 year-olds got those insults from 'ironic racism' that the people dishing it out couldn't have anticipated.

I used to live with two Asian women and our house was egged regularly by local kids who didn't like 'pakis'. One time we were attacked while walking home because my friends were Asian - my friend's boyfriend lost two teeth defending her from people trying to hurt her while shouting 'paki'.

It's not liberal bullshit - using those words 'ironically' allows people to use them without irony. Using words that distinguish minority groups from the whole of society allows people to isolate and attack them. I know you're just using them as a fun way to get a reaction, but maybe you should wait until they aren't any longer used by people with malicious intent before you use them for fun.

You'd think that wouldn't you, but apparently not. But as usual, everyone missed the point and that I was actually being prejudiced about Northerners who still use those tired racist epithets to describe their local shopping and dining experiences.

But 'as usual' you obscured your point by trying to be edgy.

And as usual, people couldn't wait to get on their high horses and start attacking because they hadn't comprehended my post properly. But I've grown used to it on here because of my edgy approach.
