British Comedy Guide

Comedy Partner/ Team Wanted...

Hey I'm Robbie...

I'm interested in putting together a team of comedy writers, to write and perform character based Comedy in a live show with an eye for making this a profession..I live in Canterbury but work in Essex, so London in in my travel area.

I have constantly e-mailed people on these threads about working on something and no one ever seems to answer, so am taking the bull by the horns.

My influences are Monty Python, The young Ones and Father Ted....That said Steve Coogan is a huge influence as well as the League Of Gentlemen, And Fly and Laurie.

If interested please E-mail me at woodyrob@hotmail.com Or to see some work my and my friends were just playing with look http://olddolly.co.uk/theblog/listen.html

Look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers

Robbie

David's link works (thanks by the way). I just hadn't noticed the ht missing in your original.

Hi, I really liked your stuff, especially some parts of the first file in the list. Favourite bits included the DJ top 40 guy, the pet's music album...I actually laughed every time that 'beep' was played, even though I knew it was coming. Also, the rapping song...'Total Eclipse of the Arsehole'...excellent! Another one that tickled me was the quote "Goodbye kids, hello X-box!", but don't tell my children! Oh...and thanks for confirming Jeremy Clarkson is a twat. I was starting to think it was just me who thought so.

Have you found some partners to work with yet? Please keep updating your files so we can hear more. Also, have you entered...or are you going to enter the latest Sitcom Trials (also posted in the 'Writing Opportunities' section of this forum)? They're running a Halloween version of the trials. They're asking for a short, no props/no set/no costumes script with no more than six characters. After listening to your podcasts, I think you could do really well in that.

I like to write black comedies, so I'm in the throes of getting an entry together. I'd be really interested to see what you and your friends come up with.

Hey Joyce,

I,m glad you enjoyed the show and thank you for the tip on the trails.
So far I have heard from some really lovely writers but the performers and quite limited.

We have just put some shows on the sound cloud under http://soundcloud.com/the-blog-comedy-show/the-blog-comedy-show-eps-2

Hope you enjoy them and spread the word for us.

Cheers

Robbie
