Obscure claims to fame Page 9

I also met Gene Pitney in 1978 backstage at The Fiesta Club in Sheffield and he marched directly and deliberately straight towards me and said:

Please get out of my way!

So I did.

All through 1999 we did party but not because it was like 1999 but because we had money then! :)

Ooh, did anyone see Karl from Neighbours at their uni?

Dr Karl came to my uni a few years back when I was studying in Bournemouth. He was an absolute legend! Me and my friends met him afterwards and he was a really nice bloke. He was very friendly-sometimes a little too friendly with the girls. :D He greeted everyone with open arms, literally! :D

My obscure claim to fame is that the family home of the actress who played the foster mother, Lou, from Byker Grove was three doors away from my Mums house and she used to look after my Mum and take her to the park :D I met her once when I was 11 and just loved the fact that she knew Ant and Dec, who were starting their pop career at the time-oh the shame, another thing I perhaps should have kept to myself!

Spent a whole evening with Evelyn Glennie before she was famous. Sang three verses of the 'Sound of Silence' together. It was great!

Presumably he's one of the ones who's not Richard Ashcroft then?

No, though Richard has bought me a pint before!

Also a couple of mates of mine have season tickets at Old Trafford behind ex-Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown.

My parents went to school with UB40.

And it should of course be "Obscure claims to fame". Really. How illiterate.

Rory Gallagher's bass player was once on the same plane as me

I once stood in a lift with that short bald hypnotist whose name escapes me now.

It's because he didn't want you to remember his name!

appeared on Granada News dressed as a Tortoise.

I can't tell you why I'm laughing, 'cos another member would kill me, but Laughing out loudLaughing out loudLaughing out loud.

Appeared on the background of local news a few times I think?

I've had e-mails read out on The Daily Politics, BBC London News, and appeared in the background on TV a few times, "here and there".

I met Luke Goss in a hotel lift in LA one time. I was at a screenwriter's convention and managed to get a script in his hand. Still haven't heard back from the guy. I don't get it, I think he'd play a great Myra Hindley.

You should've asked him when you'd be famous.
Mind you he probably couldn't answer that.
