How scary? Not too, more has an atmosphere, with the big house in a barren location and a sense of doom hanging in the air etc.
Daniel Radcliffe (who I like) is rather bland in it unfortunately, not terrible, but just has this 'teeth chattering' look which seems to be his way of conveying tension.
There are some disturbing scenes that work and I'd say it's worth a watch, not a turkey, but no classic either. The scariest part for me was the....best not spoil it for you Booo
