Billwill has been to see his doctor, 'cos he lost his voice on Sunday & it hasn't come back yet !

Doctor says it can take up to 4 WEEKS !!! Argggh! :O :O :O

Meanwhile I should not speak or whisper as that could delay it coming back.

So I've spent most of today looking for an app for my android phone which will speak for me if anyone phones up. After a few false starts I found one called "Type and Speak" which is better for this job than anything else that I've found so far.

:S

Loopey, this app might be of use to you too.

This one seems to be a good one for Windows computers, but the free version is limited & the paid version is quite expensive.

4 weeks! Is there anything particular causing it?

No it's the side effect of a chest cough.

You what ?

Well I hope it gets better very quickly.

Found the website of the real speech assistors as used by Stephen Hawkings.

Eye-wateringly expensive. http://www.words-plus.com

:) Dragon naturally speak' app' , hope this gets better soon!

Hope you get better soon, bill.
:)

I still feel pretty much the same, wobbly like a drunkard.

BUT! I've already missed day 1 of a local mini-festival that some friends put on and decided to go today and stay until tomorrow. Got my tent, my wellies and my chair, and the much needed Crabbie's to get me through. Bring it on! Cool

Oh no! That's awful news!

My baby daughter's got a cough...I've had, like, one hour of sleep on account of bed hopping...to hers...back to mine...on the floor...on the stairs...up and down for drinks...in and out of the loo for pukes.

I wouldn't mind, but it's all go here this morning! The other kids are taking proper advantage and asking me for things I wouldn't normally say yes to...and I'm giving it all to them. I think I'm still asleep! If it wasn't for the singing unicorn (with wings and added sparkle) that keeps elbowing me awake and the fact I have two pink chickens for hands all of a sudden, I really would start to think I WAS!

Tea's gone cold:(

Thank you Bill. I need one where I don't have to type all the time.
I currently use Loquendo http://www.loquendo.com/en/

I'm probably going to start using this one in the next couple of months. http://verballyapp.com/about_us.html
The free or cheap demo app is sufficient for short term use I would think.

Your doc is absolutely right, whispering can actually make it worse because of the pressure on your vocal chords. Drink lots of water too and avoid anything that might irritate your throat, like very hot food and drink, spicy food etc.

When people here...and I mean the small 'not going to school for six hundred weeks' ones...put the Marmite in the fridge, I want to cry. That's all.

Tursiops sinuses are not so bad as to be causing him real discomfort, but are just bad enough for him to feel justified in spending a lazy day. Also it are peeing down outside. Thunder and shit.

I want it to stay dry tomorrow as am right in the mood for the big car boot. But as usual it will probably be dry all week and just rain on Sundays like it always does. Unimpressed
