Billwill has been to see his doctor, 'cos he lost his voice on Sunday & it hasn't come back yet !
Doctor says it can take up to 4 WEEKS !!! Argggh!
Meanwhile I should not speak or whisper as that could delay it coming back.
So I've spent most of today looking for an app for my android phone which will speak for me if anyone phones up. After a few false starts I found one called "Type and Speak" which is better for this job than anything else that I've found so far.
Loopey, this app might be of use to you too.
This one seems to be a good one for Windows computers, but the free version is limited & the paid version is quite expensive.

Thank you Bill. I need one where I don't have to type all the time.
I currently use Loquendo http://www.loquendo.com/en/
I'm probably going to start using this one in the next couple of months.

The free or cheap demo app is sufficient for short term use I would think.
Your doc is absolutely right, whispering can actually make it worse because of the pressure on your vocal chords. Drink lots of water too and avoid anything that might irritate your throat, like very hot food and drink, spicy food etc.
