It's just supposed to be read, not replied to, that's why it's closed.

Maybe could be updated to include the 'one' posters who just fly in and out posting links...nothing wrong with wanting feedback but maybe something could be included about how this can piss some people off (but you know, don't use that word!)

A good way to give feedback is the method that is used in thousands of toastmasters public speaking groups across the globe - it is the sandwich method ( which obviouly will appeal greatly to Lee)

1. Something you enjoyed.
2. Something to improve (the bulk of the feedback goes here)
3. Something you enjoyed.

Hence you start and finish with something postive.

Of course, this is easier said than done and people write what they want anyway,

Cracking idea.
Toastmasters are bell-ends.
Fantastic sentiment though.
:)

You see you get the idea already. Although you can't count to three. But we can't have everything can we?

I count three lines.

Not having a real dig at toastmasters, I've never been to one of their events.

They're great.

Although technically she is a toast mistress.

I count four.

Including the smiley.

I'm not a toastmaster either. But their feeback system is good.

But let's be honest it won't work here.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there's no option to post as attachment scripts in word document or pdf in the critique forum. But I may be wrong. I know sometimes there are links posted by some posters but mainly they seem to be linked to YouTube videos or someone's personal web page.

The reason I bring this up is because I have noticed some posters, admittedly in the minority, who have started a new thread in critique and who have then gone and typed out an entire 30 minute sitcom script. It's just a tough read in that format. If you could open an attachment of a script it's perhaps a better reading experience, although it would still be depending on the quality of content, but I'm sure you get my point.

Just some thoughts.

Yeh typing or even pasting into critique can be torturous.

There are plenty of online resources that let you upload files for free (dropbox etc etc) - the only downside is you will get an inevitable reduction in reads from those too bone-idle to click the link.

How about those who click the link and find their operating systen terminated by turbo death virus 2?

I read the critique rules. I'm sure other people will read it too.

Hopefully, writers who post their work will be prepared for both the positives and the negatives. I don't know that a voting system would work, unless it was carefully moderated. There's always room for trolls to wrongly vote people down.

Regarding the long scripts being typed out/pasted, I'm currently setting up a web page that will allow people to send me pdf files they would like to direct people to. I'm busy for the next few days, but I will post an email address that scripts can be sent to.

I am completely normal and trustworthy (ask my parole officer), so anything I get will be kept safely on my hard drive unedited. If you think about it, anyone willing to post their script here, shouldn't mind it being posted elsewhere.

No offence Joyce. But I'm going to warn people to use the service you're offering here with CAUTION.

If you manage to create a legitimate, authentic and safe service. Then best of luck to you.

Absolutely no offence taken.
