I ordered steak the other day in a pub and asked for it medium. It came on a sizzling hot plate with onions and peppers but it was well done not medium. I just ate it without complaining (it was still very nice).

Would you have sent it back?

To be honest if it tastes ok, I'd put up especially if it's a cheap steak.

I would only send it back if it was less well done than I wanted, not more.
But I probably wouldn't order steak anyway, so it's a moot(meat) point.
