The worst thing for me was the BBC commentary. Way to spoil the mood, Auntie. Other than that, it was brilliant.

The Opening Ceremony was so much better then I'd imagined. Normally, these things bore me to fook, but very little of last night's show didn't keep me entertained.
I was watching it in the pub with a great group of friends, so the atmosphere was already top notch, but I think Danny Boyle did a fine job and there was some nice British humour spread throughout the show.
Even the Artic Monkeys and Dismal Rasclart bits were brilliant. Better then Beijing? No. Cooler then most opening ceremonies? Definitely.

Why bother with him? He didn't do or say anything and nobody would've known who he was from the stands. It could've just been anybody.
By the way the girls football team is doing well. Some really class players such as Jill Scott, Karen Carney and Kelly Smith.
The one real weakness in Womens football seems to generally be the goal keeping.
Incidentally just come back from watching the cycle road race. Watched a bit at Dorking before moving down to Box Hill to see a couple of the circuits. Then saw the ending on TV.
I'm watching the archery. Italy has just wopped the USA.
