I have learned that a brad is a script fastening device.
What ever happened to critique? Page 4
Oh yes & the winner of the 2011 Sketch of the year Comp was that Dragons Den Sketch by Comedyoflife
Quote: Lee @ July 27 2012, 1:09 PM BSTSo what have we learned? Critique can be a hostile place, where old regulars have disappeared and newbies don't stick around long enough.
That.
Maybe could do with a revamp? how about having a 'daily' something or other, like 'joke of the day' or 'finish this sketch' to get it bubbling a bit.
I actually don't really mind a slating (albeit I do tend to bit back grrr). It was just getting no feedback for a month or so.
That was just depressing.
I agree. The silence is the worse thing...

More Moffat bashing.
I love reading people's scripts and skits and a couple of the things I've seen on here are up with the funniest things I've ever read or seen. Sometimes however, comments can't be made, because there's no clear place to start.
F**kit.
I need to write something, feel I'm am going through a blah phase at the moment with nothing coming.
i must of been lucky then I actually had a few replies and their was no slating going on ( sootyj never replied so that could be a reason )
haven't had much time to come on here since I registered but hopefully will be on quite a bit in future

Well watch your spelling and grammar then. Aaron doesn't like that kind of thing.
Do you know I read that and left a response and it didn't stick.
How odd.
Quite good fun, but the original version carried on past the punch which never works.
That and the surprising violent response is nice, but a little cliched.
I wrote one 2 years ago I think.
You probable donkey rapist.
The last couple of times I checked out critique it seemed every thread was a link to a video, and I can't look at them at work. I also don't like to give feedback on videos, I thinkg if you've gone to the effort of recording it, you should have perfected your script in critique before filming it.
Perhaps Critique should be spilt into video and text offerings? I know I'd read more sketches on the train, and give feedback when I get home.
The Skit Comp's pretty quiet these days too, I lost interest when it was reset back to 0 at the beginnig of the year, didn't seem to be a challenge to win a competition when there were only 4 other entries most weeks. I liked writing on a new topic every week, and enjoyed slowly working my way up the list. I would often post my sketches for feedback after the comp closed, but haven't entered in ages.

Aaron loves spelling and grammar you scamp!
Critique was definitely a more friendly place when I first started posting in there back in 2007. It was busier too and this led to a number of collaborations between members - something which barely happens now. NewsRevue seemed a big deal amongst the writers back then too which contributed a lot of traffic to Critique. There's hardly any regulars in there these days and that's the reason it's a shadow of its former self. Not sure how to jump start it in to life. It may be beyond help.
Yeh I loved working on collabarative projects.
It even opened the door to some interesting projects for me.
