And look at all the races.

Terrified black athletes chased by white men in front of a baying crowd?

Races?

Racist more like!

Tell me about it. And where's honky in all this - riding bikes and rowing boats - saying look at us, we can afford bicycles and boats.

Totally and utterly racist.

Sorry Rocker old son

but they're not called the Tipton Taliban for nothing.

Why do you think the London train stops at Sandwell And Dudley ?

However, I'm more interested in this story about the racist Greek athelete. Why are the fit ones so prejudiced?http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-18987678

As she's not going to get a gold medal now I wonder if she would accept a pearl necklace as a consolation prize?

The North Korea flag bungle is but a drop in the ocean compared to this recent sporting mix up -

The Borat theme was played when a Kahzakstani woman won a shooting competition in Kuwait. The poor look on her face when they sing 'Our prostitutes are the cleanest in the land'.

I strangely enjoyed that.

Saw an ad for the Opening Ceromony and the first day of competition. With the time difference, they are on the same day for us.... I'd just woken up when I saw it, so it took me a bit to work out why.

Handy guide to avoid any more flag cock ups.

They never repeat the offending tweets on these stories - they'll show dead Syrian children all day long, but they never tell us the joke. You never know, it might be hilarious.

The Guardian quote it as following:

"With so many Africans in Greece, at least the mosquitoes of West Nile will eat homemade food."

Now you know what I'm like with this sort of thing- and I know that the overall tone feels a bit anti-African and she is Golden Dawn supporter, but I genuinely think it's quite hard to pinpoint what in that rubbish joke is actually racist. I know it's all about context, but if that's the case then the ban should have been made more on the grounds of a 'series of racially exclusive comments'. Please correct me because I don't want to defend the woman as is quite probably a hideous piece of human scum.

It all seems bit of a farce to me. They sound like they've just felt they had to take some action to save face, rather than really committed to it with any conviction or on any strong basis. The apparent support for Golden Dawn seems a bit of a distraction that comes dangerously close to persecuting people for their political beliefs.

As for that guff about the Olympian ethos, whilst whole countries that break strict, codified IOC rules by discriminating against women, homosexuals, etc., I know different bodies are involved, but it's more than a little hypocritical, isn't it?

I'm looking forward to the Olympics. I haven't got any tickets, but I'll be popping down to the Olympic Stadium at some point to soak up the general atmosphere. However, I certainly won't be watching any of the opening ceremony - I'm not sure I can think of anything more boring.

I saw the opening ceremony on Monday and I have to say, as someone with zero interest in sports or flags, it kicked my balls into my anus.

Is this a good thing or bad thing? I don't want to test it to find out the sensation.
