The Olympics Page 47

Sounds like a really terrible idea to me. The museums are packed in the summer anyway with the normal tourists and kids on holidays, with the Olympics it's probably going to be horrific! I don't know about the Olympic stadium, but I doubt they just let people wander around it. You might be a terrorist! :O

Hmm, thought it might be bad but not that bad :(

You won't be able to get in without a ticket, no. If you just want to see the park you'll be better off waiting until it's remodelled post Olympics, though you'll have to wait another year.

Yikes, my plans are all scuppered now.

Why does the press feel the need to spoil the ceremony by printing pictures of rehearsals?

I think the opening ceremony itself will do more than good enough a job in spoiling the opening ceremony.

Where's Terry Wogan when you need him ?

My exclusive live Tweet of the entire Olympic opening ceremony dress rehearsal is now available at @BussellComedy

The big flaw with the Olympics is that all the events are crap.

Competitive eating? Now that is a real sport: http://www.therakeandherald.tv/society/societystory.php?id=153

Yeah, especially the Paralympics - Blind people playing football? War victims with no legs running? Midget swimming?

I can't believe we spent all that money on such a stupid load of crap. ;)

They used to have tug of war. That would be fun. And short.

They used to have tug of war.

I believe in tugging only for peace.

OK, so maybe not all of them then.

But does anyone really give a toss about athletics during the four years in between the Olympics?

Nobody I know does.

Seriously, when was the last time someone said to you "Sorry, I can't go out on Saturday. I've got to watch the athletics"?

Can't be bothered trawling through to see if this has been posted already.

Cassette Boy does Olympics.

Any bought a Radio Times? There's going to be nothing on for two weeks on One or Three apart from the Olympics...!!!!

That's the BBC for you !

They can't just cover something, they have to smother it.

Like The Open golf, all over Radio 5 when they have a dedicated sport channel, all over BBC1/2.

It's as if they've lost so much sport in recent years that what they have got left they wring every last drop of coverage out of it.

(a copy of this reply can be seen in the TTPYO thread !)

You appear to have mistaken me etc etc etc

I realise that this is not the done thing but I am really looking forward to the Olympics, can't wait to watch the Women's football team, literally, kick things off this afternoon.
