I just woke up after some much-needed sleep. My cat has puked on the carpet.

I think he's on his way out. He's 15 and has always been healthy, but he seemed lighter when I picked him up the other day.

It was actual puke. He pukes 3-5 times before finally hacking up the hairball. It happens every 2 weeks or so., so I'm constantly cleaning up the nasty stuff. 
No more cats once ol' Butch goes to that great litter box in the sky.
Have you taken him to the vet about it?

Nope. He has no symptoms, isn't in pain, jumps on the furniture like normal and is his usual annoying self. He's old and he'll die in the next few years; when he gets sick, feeble or in pain I'll have him put down. I'll miss the little bastard, but he had a good life.
