Synecdoche, New York. Mopiest film I've ever seen. Although it's Charlie Kaufman, so there's some funny stuff amongst all the slit wristery.

I got about 10mins into that before giving up.

Watched The Guard last night, had some funny bits but lacked any real warmth I thought, the villains were great though.

I liked that, although it wasn't as funny as they trailers made out.

That's what I thought, but was worth a watch.

Another film I started watching was We've Got To Talk About Kevin but turned it off half way to go to sleep and it wasn't grabbing me...and couldn't be bothered to even finish it before sending it back...did I miss anything I wonder?

Not really, by the halfway mark you've probably worked out what's happened at the end anyway and the motivations for either Kevin or his mother are no clearer. Left me cold.

My sentiments entirely.

It's a very chilly film and quite uninvolving. Albeit I prefered it to the book. I think Lionel is trying to same some quite complex things about motherhood and difficult children. I'm just not sure she picked the best format and the whole massacre felt (ifthat's a spoiler no apology you're an ignoramous) arty.
More like an art project gone arwy than a primal scream of adolesent rage.

You're hardly an ignoramous if you don't know there's a massacre in a film you've never seen!

It's like saying you don't know there's a death star in Star Wars or a slapped arse in 50 shades of grey.

Ooh just thought of the sequel.

57 shades of Heinz.

Too the Bat word processor!

i thought 50 shades of grey was a biography of Johnyy Vegas's Y fronts

The Hunter, a film which did not know what it was trying to say, or who it was trying to say it to, or how to say it. Nice scenery tho.

Hey I check out yo gramma' and I gave her 50 shades of grey,

I thought 'Kevin' was a brilliant and gripping book. Didn't see the end coming. But I wouldn't watch the film - Tilda Swinton gives me the creeps.

There is a subtwistthat's quite well concealed in both, that kinda spins it into diferent areas.

Once upon a time in new York

Your arse must ache. Isn't it about 4 n half hours long?

Hang on, I'm think of OUATIAmerica.

Yes sorry I got the title wrong
