Right - so Terry has been cleared.
Just a thought. Was that stirring little shit Joey Barton playing that day?

No, that's far worse than name calling.
What a sensible verdict that was. A waste of public money, like Terry's black mate said in court. Things said in heated situations especially in retaliation to insults or gamesmanshippy winding up should be dealt with by FA only, not blown up and taken to court to make a mockery of the law. The law has better things to do.
And undereducated inarticulate footballers repeating old schoolground mantras doesn't mean they believe them. They're just sayings that come out when trading insults. Another strike against the PC nutters trying to run our lives and tell us how to think. In that respect, it was money well spent, maybe.

They tested it out on Joey Barton and it blew up.
Ok now for some sensible thinking. Football is in trouble and Sootyj proposes the following actions to save it.
1 Reduce all players wages to minimum wage and make gate fees a fiver to democratize it.
2 Black players are over represented giving a racist image of them as only athletes. No team to have more than one black player.
3 New vacancies to be offered to Jewish, Chinese, women, transexual players
4 All pitches to be concreted over to allow for wheel chair players.
5 Footballs to be made 6 foot in diameter and filled with cats. Thus allowing blind players to find them easily.
6 All matches to start with a half an hour exam in maths, english, Urdu and personal social studies. If players don't pass match called off.
7 Any team scoring 2 more goals than the others instantly disqualified for oppressing the other team by playing better football.
8 John Terry to be executed at the beginning of every match.
9 Goal mouths to be renamed "vagina welcomes" and decorated with pubic hair.
10 Football to be renamed "happy, communion of equality for all but especially underrepresented minorities.."

No not really, it has just become a bit of running joke. For a couple of years I had met a few people I didn't like who just happened to be Scottish.

I agree with Godot on the whole interpretation of what was said can't be proved as being racist. It can simply be looked at as a description, but it's a description which instantly riles certain crowds. If John Terry had said "You f**king black c**t, your problem is that the brain of your lot is comparably smaller to that of the white man and therefore you should be polishing my winners medals" I think there would have been little chance of a "not guilty" verdict.
Can he form sentences that long?
Probably not.

Sure. A description that suggests black as a negative. The same way as if you shouted fat c**t at a fat person when angry with them. When you're annoyed with someone, you never shout 'You well proportioned, sparkley eyed c**t!' Your mind picks something you think of as a weakness or a negative attribute; or something that you know will rile the other person. You may not actually be racist, but you know that to pick that word you will cause the maximum impact and get the greatest desired reaction. The idea that the word 'black' isn't trying to be used in an insulting or derogatory manner when paired up with c**t as part of an insult is silly, even if the word itself is of course not racist.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but even John Terry and his defence team think it's racist to call someone a black c**t. In fact, his defence case relied on it, and his indignation at the suggestion he would have used the phrase in anger towards Ferdinand.
Look, I hate John Terry as much as the next man as I think he's an arrogant bullyboy, but you can't convict someone unless the charge is proved beyond any reasonable doubt. In this case it wasn't.
Did I say otherwise? I thought this thread was about whether it's racist to call someone a black c**t. I just put it out there that in this case both prosecution and defence think it's racist.

No, sure, it seemed a pretty weak case to me. The person he's supposed to have abused didn't even hear it.
I wasn't replying to you, Badge. I apologise for any confusion.

Well I wasn't talking about the case specifically either, I was talking about whether it's racist to throw 'black c**t' at someone as an insult. The very fact it's being thrown as an insult answers the question.
