Agree. If there are more men in a house than women, then there's definitely no reason the seat should be left down. But if there's more women then it should.
I think if the genders are equal in numbers then the whole entire seat plus lid should be left down. So everyone has to lift something. (Plus it looks better.)
And that is my toilet seat philosophy.
