The cat with the collar and note worked: he does have an owner. He said he didn't mind if Jones (yes!) came in to play but asked that I did not feed him, which is only fair.

Bit sad but overall happy that he does have a home.

Well good for you. You don't want to be accused of cat-napping. And Jones was the name of the cat in Alien, so the real owners must be cool.

Jones is a very cool name.

You can always adopt a rescue cat!

We had a nice chat about it and he did sound cool, actually.
I didn't know that was its name (in Alien).

I know, it's just it's easier if I don't because of holidays and stuff. I would have done for this one as it was forced on me, so to speak. I'd sooner adopt another dog.
