Sitcom Script Reader Needed!!!

Hi. Me and a buddy have just written a half hour sitcom script and we're in need of someone to read it over for us and offer constructive feed back, good or bad. We've tried a family member who works as a stand up comedian but given the obvious bias and pressure to give the script the thumbs up, we aren't sure the feedback although positive was entirely truthful.

So we really need an impartial reader to give honest feedback.

Any other writers out there, maybe we can return the favour!

Stick it in a pm to me and I'll peruse it.

Get a pro, like Danny Stack, Andrew Ellard or Marc Blake to give it a look. You have to pay, but the feedback will be more worthwhile.

a professional script reader is what you need if and when its ready to rock (but pricy)

stick the first few scenes in critique (no more than 5 pages) and we'll see if it goes or blows.

I'd be happy to give you some feedback.

I am in a similar situation; albeit with a feature-length 89 pages on Celtx (possibly could split into two 50-minute TV episodes, I guess).

Been working on it 14 months, so scared that it's going to be gash.

By the way, do the pros prefer/demand hard-copies? I am 9 time-zones away at the moment.

Micheal Jacob's a good bet if you're serious about your stuff enough to stick your hand in your pocket.
His critiques are great, he doesn't beat about the bush and will leave you a trembling husk but it's bloody worth it. I'm kidding, he's not that cruel but if what you want is no-bullshit summary of why your script does or doesn't work from a TV professional of many years, you can't go wrong.
