Why not take it to a vets or rspca and get it scanned for microchips? If it doesn't have one, the rspca will give you advice on adopting it.

Aw shucks, ifthat's how you feel. Me too please!

I've seen your van around but you've got the wrong house/person.
Muppet.
Oh the other tip I heard was to buy a cheap collar, and attach a note to it asking if the owners could drop you a text or knock round to let you know it has a home.

I have done that (forgot to mention), there isn't one.
I am thinking of it seriously, the vet seemed to think it was a good idea.

Thanks Nat, I'll do that. That way I might also find out if he sleeps somewhere or even gets fed by others.

No, no, not at all. Now get in the back of the van. There are no seatbelts back there, so I'll just have to tie you down for, um...safety reasons. Yeah, that's it, safety.

So you've met RCP?
Quote: Booo @ June 30 2012, 11:58 AM BSTYou're awful.
He's lovely, runs in to greet us, likes a good tummy scratch and purrs while you do it.
*sees a pattern emerging* I am naive, aren't I?
He's just after your dinner and your dirty underwear hamper.

Well not for everyone. Just some one special.
If it is someone else's cat, it's a bit out of order (I can't think of the word I mean, but that's close!) to start feeding it. My neighbour's cat spends a ton of time at my house, because they own a dog next door that the cat doesn't like and have really loud kids, so he comes here to get a bit of peace. I get to play with him and cuddle him, and he sometimes spends the whole day with me, but I never feed him. I think that's crossing the line, really - you'd basically be stealing the cat. (And my way you get all the pleasures of having a cat without having to spend any money on food or vet bills)
However, if your one *doesn't* belong to anyone, then I'd say adopt him immediately! I just don't know how you'd find out.

I've not had the pleasure, no. Tell me more, there's still time and I can make my mind up.
Hang around with me if you're coming next Sat (are you?), I'll rub off some gay-inducing magic on you.
Yes if I'm not too succesful and famous by then.

Oh I do know what you mean but why would someone own a cat and let it wander around without a collar? Is that a known thing? *not really a cat lady - at least not yet, plenty of time still*
I hardly ever see cats with collars. I don't think collars are all that common with cats. That's just a dog thing I think.
