In Britain, we have to call them butts because tanks are what we sell to evil dictators.

I too have never heard of 'water butts', aside from specialist internet porn sites of course.
I've heard of a rain barrel, a water tank and even a moisture vaporator*, but I have never heard of something called a water butt.

I miss the days I was able to write on here more.
L.E. is fed up being busy! Stupid August prep!

We miss you too L.E., but at least being busy means that you are earning the bucks.
Sure, it might sound nice to spend your day sunbathing in the park or constantly writing stuff on the BCG, but in reality, without money, you'd just end up begging outside the Lidl cash point with a shopping trolley full of cats.
So count yer blessins' darling. x
Blimey... a Butt is a barrel as in Wooden Whiskey and wine butts or Brandy - which are used for saving water, after distllers etc sell them off. I have one in my garden now.

I thought I recognized you!

No, a barrel is a barrel, I know that because it's called a barrel.
I hate people who insist on using 'ye olde English' words for things when they are not needed - I hope these knaves, blackguards and jackanapes get scrofula.
I've heard them called water butts loads.
And water tanks, and maybe barrels.
If we were still too hot after running through the sprinkler, we used to climb in them when we were kids.
We were weird.
Water Butt is legitimate name, you miscreants.

No offence zooo, but you grew up in a part of the world where people still buried things under a dead tree stump to cure their lustful cravings or whatever.

You can call your kids whatever you like, just don't expect them to have a smooth time at school.
Where do you think I grew up?

I imagine you with a slight Wurzel burr. So wherever it is the Wurzels come from you come from.

Oh yeah, I know... I am lucky having a job! Just wish it wasn't as busy! hehe
