The death sentence always leaves me terribly conflicted. On the one hand it's always a cruel and unusual punishment (the long wait before execution apparently being truly soul destroying). And on other the guy who shot that Indian student. That smirking psychopath, is he ever going to be welcome back in society?
Mind you the death sentence in the UK was dropped comparatively early in the UK after 2 truly outrageous miscarriages of justice.
