Funniest sitcom line...ever!

The line that consistently makes me laugh when I think about it is from a show that I've never even seen a whole episode of: "My Name is Earl"

It was an occasion where you just trip over a show and wasn't really watching it as I was working on the PC but one line jumped out and nearly made me fall off my chair.

It's an American show which has a couple of dumb sounding characters and another who was gay but wanted to be a real man (or something like that). There was also something about gambling addiction.

It was all very odd.

The bit made me laugh out loud was when the two dumbest characters were talking to each other. One was writing a poem for a girl and the other said:

'Are you sure you want to write a love poem with the word cartilidge in it?'

I hadn't heard the previous line but that one alone made me laugh so much.

There was another too where there was a gambling support group and the person running it said:

'Everyone here has a disease'

...which thanks to the way it was edited had me in stitches too.

I must make an effort to watch these in full.

An episode of Father Ted where they are lying in bed, Ted turns the light off to go to sleep but remembers something (?) so turns it back on and Dougal sits up and says "morning Ted".

I've only seen it once, I may be dreaming it, and it may not be as funny as I remember it being. But maaaaaaan, I love that line!

Laughing out loud Agreed! Classic!

Just watched The Simpsons and there's a bit where Homer is spray painting 'I AM HOMER SIMPSON' in huge letters on Mr. Burns door, Mr. Burns walks in and says, "Who the devil are you?". And then a few minutes later in the town hall explaining why he's carrying a gun, he says, "Earlier today I was attacked by an unidentified assailant." and in the background you hear a "Doh!"

Classic.

Favourite line is Margo Leadbetter reading her cracker joke, "the ooh aar bird is so-called because it lays square eggs".

Marge: Homer, the plant called. They said if you don't show up tomorrow don't bother showing up on Monday.

Homer: Woo-hoo! Four-day weekend!

Laughing out loud

Love it!

Favourite Simpsons line:

HOMER: Yeah Im stupid; stupid like a fox!

I agree Simpsons has the best one liners. Futurama has a few up there as well. One of my favorites is In the video-game episode from "Tales of Interest II":

Alien: [Says something like] We need the quarters for our laundry. I mean, have you smelled Donkey Kong's loin cloth recently?!?

Zoidberg: Yes.

We have had this thread before, i still think the best gag i've ever heard in a sitcom was NGO, first series.

TIM: My gran died today, she was 96, i always thought she'd live to be a hundred.

LEE: Aww, we're you close?

TIM: Well i was only four years out.

Simpsons wins easily. My favorite one is where Homer changes his name to Max Power and someone says something like

Max Power thats a great name

Homer:
Thanks. I got it off a hair dryer

Laughing out loud

Yes, I love that!!

I also like the Simpsons. I wonder if they've ever thought of a theatre production. That would go down a storm.

They did a live version with the voice actors, if that's what you mean?
