That's a bit harsh isn't it? It's only a silly book created as diversion for a few repressed middle class types.
I will not have the entire female gender slandered by such a superflous triviality - besides, most chicks on the planet can't read, so it's completely unfair anyways.
Perhaps you should author your own version:
Fifty Shades of,,, WOAH! GET OFF ME! RIGHT NOW! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING????!!!! I'LL CALL THE POLICE, DON'T THINK I WON'T....

I am very close to dying my hair trashy bleached blonde.
Then my Betty Grable look will be complete

From what I remember from the Newsnight interview of the author, it's a standard Mills and Boon romance spiced up with a little sado-masochism. I think there is some sort of boss-secretary, older man-younger woman, sub-dom theme. You know, the film Secretary in book form.

Still you shouldn't 'reveiw' books you haven't read... how can we trust them if you don't?

Yes rwayne, I know what a best selling book that has been all over the news is about. Will my mind never cease to amaze?

You 'know' what other people say or think it's about? Is that what you mean?

Outrageous, you have never seen me looking chavvy!
(Realises this is untrue and weeps)

It's extremely poorly written porn, based on reducing the main character to nothing but a sexually submissive object. The Mr Grey character is horrendously sexist, including making the lead char sign a contract to dictate what she will wear, how often she excercises, how she conducts herself. And stalks her a bit. But that's okay right, because he's a handsome billionaire with a big penis who can speak French. The idea that this is a legit fantasy for a lot if women makes me want to throw things.
