That's really sad. It's bad enough these hideous people prey on gullible grieving folk to get money, but to sexually exploit them is another thing altogether. If this is true then this is so utterly cruel and perverse he deserves some hefty punishment.

Yep. It sounds from the reports that it was done thoroughly and to the book, and the reports of the 911 calls will help ease a lot of peoples' concerns I suppose. On cases like this though, I wish they would be more forthcoming with details of the evidence. There are those of us who can believe the word of the police, and those who can't, and I always feel that it is very much in the public interest to share as much (non identifying) information as possible, so that confidence in the system is maintained.
For me the principle is "opposition" as long as some where along the line. Someone actually meaningfully challenges the case, evidence etc from the police then I'm happy. The big objection to the agency that does this in the UK. Is they have never even in the most blatant circumstances suggested criminal charges be brought.
And certainly in the Demenzes case swallowed a hopeless case suggested by the Met unbelievably fast.

I doubt that's the case, but since they weren't there they can't really add any new evidence or argue with the existing evidence.

People were getting all riled up on the BCG a day after the incident took place. Evidence can't be released immediately or it will completely foul up any future trial.
