I hated my iPhone with a fiery passion. Android is massively superior.

Saw someone talking on a note the other day. Looked like he was talking into a book.
They are crazy large. One X is only something like 0.6inches smaller accross the diagonal, but doesn't look nearly as silly large.
Yep. I actually thought he was attempting to talk into his I-pad at first. Then realised they don't make them that small. Although it was a a few days ago, so they might now.
I wonder if they will try to bring out flip phones again in an effort to make them seem smaller.

500gb is what I have and it is not nearly enough for my daily out of house usage. 1000 is fine for even very regular surfers but if you expect to be able to stream or download you might want to consider unlimited.
My sister has a Note. It is rather lovely but she doesn't utilise its full potential, which breaks my heart.
Are you sure those figures are right? 500Gb is roughly the same as 100 full DVDs
No I'm being an idiot- I meant meg not gig. Boo to me.

Here was I, thinking you spend ALL your time glued to your mobile screen.
Has anyone any experience of cashback deals? I used to use a cashback site, which was fine until a couple of deals didn't produce the cash.
|Moneysupermarket.com has some interesting deals, but many of the best ones are include 'cashback'.
I had been thinking of getting a Galaxy Note, but now I'm wondering if I might be better off with any old phone for calls, and either a tablet or netbook for the meaty stuff. But there's the dilemma; netbook or tablet?
What about an Asus Transformer (either Prime or the new Pad TF300T)? It's the tablet with the keyboard attached that comes off it. Pretty meaty piece of kit but if you want a tablet, just clip the keyboard off it. I'm going to get one when this netbook finally gives up the ghost and then I'll be Windows-free finally!
My plan is to get a Note 2, when they're out (hopefully it'll be a specced-up version of the SIII) as the pen and larger screen will be handy for writing stuff and I use my phone mostly to watch video on the train, so the bigger screen is handy. And some sort of Transformer Pad (most likely the Infinity that is due out soon) to replace the netbook.
On the app front, I've been messing with DLNA stuff, as the telly and PS3 are compliant, so good apps so far are:
Twonky Mobile -- stream media (photos, video, music) from your phone to your Samsung SmartTV (and other DLNA-compliant TVs). This is excellent stuff. Also streams to PS3 if your telly's not compliant.
(Incidentally, PS3 Media Player will do the same if you want to do a similar thing (streaming content) from PC to telly/PS3; the PS3 is not required for using PS3 Media Player -- it's a free non-Sony bit of software)
AirDroid -- manage your phone wirelessly via any web browser, so you don't have to connect the cable basically when copying/transferring stuff to and from it. I've just found this but it does other fancy stuff too ie. has access to all your call logs/messaging (if you want to save them/contact details offline) and you can use your PC to text etc etc (especially if you can type faster on a keyboard than via an on-screen keyboard)

Interesting, I hadn't heard of it. I'm slightly concerned about all the bad reviews concerning ASUS customer services though.
My current thoughts are with something smaller and more portable, like the 7" Samsung Galaxy Tab. Still pondering how much I want to spend getting a contract though.
The Google-branded Nexus 7 (7-inch) tablet is out soon. And at £159 is a lot cheaper than any Galaxy Tab. It is made by ASUS though, but if Google have faith in ASUS, you're probably alright with a Transformer Pad!

For some reason, my phone won't find a lot of my music files, all of which are .wma. However, it does find others that are .wma. My last android phone was the same (maybe I asked the same thing last year), and I never found an answer then, either. Any ideas?
It has no problems finding MP3's though, so I could convert them all. Is there a free converter which will do them all en masse? I've just tried one which wasn't as 'free' as it claimed to be...
It's the app, not Android, that deals with the file formats, so you just need an app that can play .wma files. Try downloading Xplay Music (or Xmusic Player or something). Apparently this is one of the best.
I've just tried a .wma file using it on my phone and it works.
