Nah. It's just a (bad) erotic novel.
Fictional tastes have little to do with real life tastes.
I read the news today oh boy! Page 877
Quote: Renegade Carpark @ June 13 2012, 4:23 PM BSTExcept the success of '50 Shades of Grey' has sent out yet another confusing message about 'empowerment'.
That can f**k RIGHT off. Thankfully I am yet to see anyone on my Facebook page fall for that shit and enjoy it. As soon as they do, they will be swiftly deleted. It's porrly written, overly patronising, self defeating lady porn. Mills and Boone written for the modern woman, but by a dyslexic inbred. Eurgh.

Fiction has EVERYTHING to do with real life; it presents our ideal. If this is what a big chunk of the female population thinks is good reading then we're basically f**ked.
What I mean is, if you like reading about something, it doesn't mean you remotely want to try it yourself.
When it comes to erotica, that is. Or indeed books about murderers, rapists, time travellers! Etc.
I think books like 50 shades are just silly escapism.
Am I the only one who's not read it?

I haven't!

Speak for yourself!!

I haven't, I just have lots of opinions about it.

No yes I get what you saying. It's just a more socially acceptable version of pornography. It shouldn't be though; it's got less artistic value than most skin flicks.

Lol, dirty Booo.

I like the fact that it's a massive seller on Kindle, so no one can tell they're reading such a rude/shit book. Funny.
I haven't bothered because everyone else seems to. I'm glad most of you haven't either.
Edit: by everyone else I mean all the school mums I know, and my prim work colleagues, and I don't like sharing their taste. I know, I'm very whatstheword but that's how I am.

Some women may have never dabbled in the world of erotic fiction ever, so this boringly romantic slush with a kinky twist is just enough to buzz their bean without freaking them out too much altogether. I can totally understand why it has been such a massive seller.
I imagine if they watched some of the porn that's on the internet their heads would implode.
