Accents, they can really throw you, can't they?
Take me, for instance. I've been here almost 15 years and still have my own accent. I can't describe it, it sounds like nothing I've heard before (and I mean this in a negative way).
I mostly get called French but I don't roll my Rs (unless you ask for it really nicely) and don't add redundant Zs where they're not wanted. I suppose at a push you'd say it's European.
On the phone if I announce my name (Tania) I get called Toni or Jenny, so that should give you an idea.
I love accents and regionalisms, even Scouse.
But my fave has to be Norn Irish. <3
