Worked out about £200 quid at the time. Which is alot of money, plus my cousin went and got one almost identical the day after I got the price. So I just gotta wait for him to perish first then I can get it.

Are we talking skin graft from a corpse?!!!! :O

How can I know nothing on the subject? I can see the bloody things every day and mostly they come from the chavvy end of the High Street.

I still think that thousands just follow a trend - what did the Specials call them? Follow fashion monkeys!

(That's obviously not racist because the Specials were a multi-racial band.)

There's always been those who join onto a trend because they have no imagination.

Can't agree more !

There used to be a saying, 'monkey see, monkey do.' and that's where we are are with tattoos, spitting, men without tops in football crowds, abuse etc.

And, sorry to say, I blame it all on Premier League football.

What chavs see as the norm there, those knuckle draggers believe it to be the norm.

I think that means a full sleeve. Please don't take this the wrong way, but if that's the case and they asked for only 200 quid then I don't think you'd get a good job.

A full arm sleeve would normally set you back at least nearer 300, depending on how long it'd take and how much they charge by the hour, but I don't see it taking less than at least 5 hours for line work, shading and colouring. Unless your artist only charges 40 an hour? If so that is well cheap.

The cheapest I've found is 60 but that's mates rates. Unless your guy charges by the piece?

I'd research a good custom artist that does well what you plan on having and doesn't do the same design for other customers - they may vary it but wouldn't do the same one, unless you're talking about flash. This will cost you, though.

I knew this thread would start an argument (/"discussion") again. But I have a small ladybird on my back, which hardly ever shows. He has a name. Very hard and knuckle-dragging. I have the blue bow because it represents something really important to me - a psychological disorder I've had for about half of my life. It's not a celebration of that disorder, but a way to make it (at least partly) into something beautiful that I can control. It's not going away, and neither is my tattoo. But without my trichotillomania, I wouldn't have this lovely blue bow.

Now, who should I punch first? :P

:) Please don't get upset, don't think Booo intended nastiness, more caring?...

Sure you picked well and a friend., you are satisfied and I understand the personal reasons with hair, love and peace; Crikey you are normally so 'quiet'!x

But honestly, you don't need to worry about those people. Anyone who would be so pompous as to decide upon a person's character or merit based on what they look like isn't worth your time. The world moves on, but some people are happy staying where they are. Lets leave them to it.

In jails in certain third-world countries, tattoo ink is too hard to come by, so male prisoners express their masculinity and individuality with sub-dermal penile implants, often using plastic ball bearings (made from melted lids of toothpaste tubes). The female equivalent often involves implants of gold pellets, which are said to bring good fortune and magical powers.

YOUCH.

:O Yucko
