It is a bit over rated. I don't really understand why it inspires such masturbatory fanboy love.

At the time it was a ground-breaking vision of a dystopia, and it set the trend for other Philip K Dick movies.

I don't really like Blade Runner. :$

It's okay, it just means you're a bad person.

No it didn't.

Virtually every sci-fi vision is dystopic. This one just happened to look pretty good in an advert kind of way.

It's pretty simple really - the chick in the see-through mac.

No? There hadn't been any before it, and there's been about 10 popular films since, generating about $1billion.

Super. The mix of ultra-violence and humour is quite uneasy at times, but it's still quite an enjoyable film. A sort of grungier, nastier Kick Ass.

They should try 1978's Star Crash. Not only is it as good as Blade Runner, but the director got it right first time round and didn't have to keep going back and releasing new definitive versions.

Laughing out loud

If by ten you mean three. We've had about one succesful Phillip K Dick adaptation every decade. Although I did rather enjoy Screamers, Impostor and Paycheck. :$

Watched 'Fright Night' last night. Was expecting a crappy movie, but it turned out to be quite entertaining. A nice old-fashioned horror movie before all that torture porn became the norm. (I'm getting old)

Welcome back lady Wave

Thanks, you. :D

You watched the '80s one?

I saw that on video when I was 10 and IT WAS HORRIBLE. (But ace.)

No, the new one with Colin Farrell and David Tennant and the new Ensign Chekhov actor...who is so young! I've just tipped over the point where the obviously adult actors playing teenagers are now younger than me. :(

Ok I'm now so old that films I thought were cool at the cinema.

Are being shown as pensioner fodder on daytime TV.

Hunt for Red October with adverts for life insurance and easy go disability crappers.

Oh and I'm so old I saw Star Trek movies at the cinema. When the STOS crew were not only, not ridiculous.

They weren't dead.

Ahh, I haven't seen that one yet.
Is it actually scary? Or more just fun.

It's ok, George Takei will always be cool. Ignore all the others, focus on Takei

Not at all scary, it's just fun.
