I ran the Race for Life today and whilst I wasn't brilliant, I felt some achievement afterwards, raising money for charity, being part of such a big gathering.

I will aim to do so much better next year and will try to drag my little daughter along - there were many young kids there.

The thing I wanted to share the most is this: the amount of us that were doing it in memory of loved ones. I fought back the tears as I pinned my friend's paper to her back that stated how much she misses her Mum.
Another friend couldn't be there today as she's just given birth and is unwell but she would have done it for her Mum too.

Cancer really is a bastard.

:) Wow in this heat! bloody well done Booo, I cannot even manage to weed garden.

Yes, cancer is a bastard. <3

Well done Booo!! Great achievement. And it is an emotional day as you run round.

Congratulations on your run. All illness is a bastard and anything anyone can do to raise awareness or funds for research or to help people going through it is admirable in my book and I thank them all for it.

Cheers, I meant to post about it as a share of thoughts about it, really (not for a pat on my back, I'm the worst person to accept compliments of any kind).

I just wish there was a cure. It runs in my family and so far we've been lucky (early detection) but not everyone has had the same luck.

Yesterday really was emotional, there were thousands of us, even young children. I don't understand why it's only women allowed, seems very unfair.

Puke.

Aww, zooo. Don't you want to be any of those things?

Hee, I quite like journalist and butterfly handler.

Just can't believe they missed out glamour model.

That's a little too aspirational. You can make good money from that.

:D

Can't see what the problem is, it's for like, little girls. How many 4 year olds want to play 'architectural engineer specialising in urban developments on flood plane devastated areas'? What pre-school female wants to wear a full Hazmat suit with integral gas mask?

If you think girls choices are limiting, try being a boy - murderer or footballer.

I did when I was a little girl.

And what a great weekend that was. Smarmy

Would you want your little girl reading that crap though?
Not even just for 'feminism' reasons. Just generally. All that fluffy pink fairy shit makes me gag.
