I'm proud to say I've never watched 'Eastenders' in my life. Nor 'Emmerdale'. Nor 'Neighbours' (does it still exist?). My mother used to force-feed me 'Coronation Street' when I lived with her but the damage doesn't seem to have been permanent.
I've always watched Eastenders. Only started watching Coronation Street recently, always used to hate it, even the theme tune made me want to die of boredom and despair.

Good to catch up with the UP series which has now reached 56 Up.
I only wish this was taken out of Michael Apted and ITV's hands. Apted sounds in interviews as if this is a burdensome interruption to his Hollywood directing career which was obviously not built on his empathetic interviewing techniques.
As for ITV this show is just an embarrasing reminder of a bygone age when the station had some creativity and ambition. Unlike TOWIE there is no informative website, no extended ITV2 version or anything like an interesting spin off such filming the participants interacting at their reunion.
