Radio writing partner

Hi there,

In October last year I started writing a fictional blog/diary based (very) loosely on my experience working from home. I've been writing it every weekday ever since, and I'm now up to a relatively significant body of work (almost 300 entries, 2 per day, spread across 150 weekdays).

I have a very loyal but very small fan base, and I would like to broaden its reach. I think radio might be a good way to do this. Firstly, it's written as a narrative, with occasional quotes, so casting would not be significant. Also, the writing is already largely non-visual, due to it being a diary.

In order to rewrite the diary as a radio script, I'm hoping to find a writing partner, ideally with experience writing for radio. I'm hoping for suggestions on how I might find someone. :D

Incidentally, the blog is below, and I live in Cheshire, about 30 mins south of Media City.

Many thanks.

Hi, read a few of your blog posts and they amused me. This may be because I work from home too. I think a radio show would need a more narative structure and proper plots in order to be sustainable, rather than just a rehash of a diary. Having said this, I wonder if it is begginging to sound like 'Ed Reardon's Week', which is a show I've only caught a couple of times. I'd suggest you try and have a listen to this and make sure you're not too similar in premise before you invest too much time in a radio script.

Good luck.

Apologies for the late reply.

Thanks Steve. I've listened to Series 8 Episode 6 and you're right, it is pretty similar (even down to the toast reference).

Perhaps I should concentrate on growing the blog readership rather than changing the format.

Any thoughts gratefully received.
