I think they constantly burn, almost like a central heating, heating water and cooking food whilst heating rooms? I could be wrong though.

Quote: DaButt @ May 18 2012, 2:52 PM BSTIt's bizarre when you have access to gas and electricity yet burn wood like a Neanderthal when you want to cook dinner. The occasional outdoor BBQ? Fine.
The only Bizarre thing is that you seem to have quite strong feelings about the matter!
A couple of people want to cook using a wood burning oven? *shrugs*
Agas nowadays pretty much run on oil or electricity. Watch Rick Stein he cooks on one. I used to have a four oven economy seven Aga and I have to say it is the best oven I have cooked with. A separate wok burner would be nice.

He only uses propane and propane accessories.
Not mine, but like it. When I had one

What DaButt doesn't understand is that there's more to this issue then meets the eye. He assumes we are a first world country, where if you have access to high speed broadband, then surely you don't cook your food on caveman tech.
If the same people who used AGA's also listened to music on gramophones and watched films on VHS, then it would be understandable - but they don't, they buy them for 'look at me, I am posh' value. They have made a lifestyle statement based on the most superficial of reasons for the sake of appearances.
Yes, I did that.
Cooked a f**king good egg on toast mind!
An AGA means you're so f**king rich; you not only f**king don't cook, you buy a f**king 5 grand f**king oven, which you stick in your f**king huge, stone f**king, flagged kitchen so all your f**king friends know it as well. C**ts.
Again, none taken!
In my defence I wanted one of these.

Not strong, merely surprised. I figured it was more than "a couple" because everyone seemed to know the brand name.
We have extravagant stoves here but they're all gas and/or electric.
