Some Success!

Yes! Yippee!

I've sold my first sketch! Newsrevue have decided to use one of mine and it was in last weeks show! My first success! I feel so smug! One of my sketches being performed on stage in London! I wonder if anyone laughed at it......

It was a sketch based upon a Tony Blair joke I published here a while back. I then extended it into a whole scene dealing with his conversion to Catholicism. I sent it just after Christmas and assumed that it hadn't been used as it had been a few weeks.

When I first started sketch writing I set myself a target of a year for getting something sold, but I then extended that to 3 years as I thought 1 year was not possible. I was wrong thankfully!

Can you post it so we can see? Also, how did you know they used it? Did they email you?

Ian - I found out because I requested a running order for last weeks show. I think that's the only way you find out. I submitted that sketch a few weeks ago, so it looks as though they a while to filter through. I'll try to post it up soon, but it was written on my GF's PC, so I don't have access to it at the moment.

Congratualations. I would advise you to go and see it but not take your parents. I took my parents when I had a couple of sketches on. When I recognised that my was being performed I whispered 'thats one of mine.' Unbeknownest to me they had added some jokes involving dildos and doing drugs. Very embarassing
