How soon after you started writing comedy, did you send material to a production company for the first time?

As soon as you're happy with it.
Took me nearly a year to send something.

No. He couldn't find a stamp. 
Depends how good a writer you are, or at least how quickly you learn. I've been waiting five years.
I waited a few months. I would send it when you are happy. Then don't look back.
I agree with Ray. When you feel totally confident(ish) sent it off.
I look back on some of my work , months later & change them altogether. Wait until you have re read it/them several times & still like it as much as when you first wrote it.
Also when you feel less likely to suicide, if you get a rejection.
