Haven't got that far yet. They are being restrained from scary spider action for the harmonious co-existence of humans and spiders though

Phew.

Are spider monkeys called that because they eat...? Oh, it's too horrific to imagine.

Of course they eat.

Nope, don't worry- they're called that because they're actually half spider, half monkey, an interesting evolutionary process in action, whereby spiders grow to the size of monkeys.

Billwill is pleased to have reached a milestone in his kitchen renovation, in that the new vinyl floor has now been laid on top of the cement/latex levelling stuff that I did last weekend.

I did the upper part of the kitchen last year, so now I'm ready to order the base cabinets from Ikea and the new oven & hob & sink & dishwasher. The end is now in sight.

Doing the kitchen floor was always going to be the trickiest part, while still living in the house. I did it by removing the old base cabinets, but then fastening the old worktops and the sink to brackets on the wall so that there was nothing actually resting on the floor.

Here's a picture of part of the new oak-patterned floor and the radiator, which I had so much 'fun' with about 10 days ago.

And the other corner

And the tricky bit under the sink and the plumbing 'sculpture' from two weeks ago.

Oh, my GOD! Here goes for weeks/months of nightmares.

Lovely floor, Bill, and light enough that you should be able to spot scuttling spiders from a distance.

It wasn't wood; it's a concrete floor under that with old vinyl tiles & then the levelling mix (Cement+Latex) and finally the oak patterned Vinyl that you see in the pictures above, to give the impression of a nice wood floor, (but far more practical for a kitchen).

Any scuttling spiders are now imprisoned in the walls, because I filled any holes with plaster filler, especially around the sink waste outlet where the original plumber 37 years ago never bothered to properly finish the hole he made for the waste pipe to go through the wall.

This was the vinyl while it was being wrestled with yesterday.

Done! :|
Am I sill a student or do I have to tell people I'm a "shop assistant" now?

Hmm. I think you could get away with student until your graduation day.

Orrr, more importantly until your NUS card runs out. I used my Peacocks discount until the last damn day. ;)

Laughing out loud My library membership runs out at the end of this month, I've just been e-mailed. :(

Awww.
I completely forgot about my uni email account running out before it was too late. There could have been anything in there I missed (or nothing).

Oh yeah. I wonder when that happens.
