Curb Your Enthusiasm Spec

Thoughts please???

--------------NOTICE--------------
I HAVE NO INTENTION OF TRYING TO SELL THIS TO HBO IT IS JUST A SAMPLE OF MY WORK SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION.

I guess my first thought, given that this isn't a scripted show in the traditional sense, is "why did you write this?"

EDIT.

Well first of all I wrote it to add to a list of specs that I have written just to put a portfolio together. Second I haven't seen the gerbil up his arse scene and third 'stolen' is a little harsh as things like a fight with Richard Lewis ect happens in most of the eps that I have seen. Finally I didn't need to research it as I already knew the format and that they don't accept scripts the episode was purely for example purposes.

EDIT.

Maybe he just wanted to share it? Have a little discussion with like minded people, who could offer a bit of criticism along the way?

Geez!

Geez!

That's what I was hoping for lol

'Lifted' is also wrong I'd say more 'trying to keep within the tradition of the show' but I'm a 'tea leaf' so that excuse could have been used by someone else in the past.

Off corse its fine! I write scripts from shows which havnt aired since the sixties and I have wrote a curb one. Its not about whether its going to made, its about improving your writing skill. Anyway I will be reading this later.

Coincidentally, I'm currently in the middle of writing a Seinfeld script (to practice and hopefully improve my sitcom writing skills).

I'll give this a read later and post mine when its finished.

I've edited out my replies, on reading them over now, I got the completely wrong end of the stick with this. I'd thought that spec script always meant 'with the intention of selling', but it appears I've misinterpreted that.

My apologies, PurpleRonnie.

Oh dear I get the feeling the apology was about as sincere as Ricky Gervais' 'Mong-Gate' apology.

Quote 'A spec script is a sample teleplay written to demonstrate the writers knowledge of a show and ability to imitate its style and conventions'

which from what I have read he has done that. Although it's not written Larry David style it is in-keeping of the shows theme and I would imagine it was written to show his abillity of doing so.

Maybe someone should stop being so picky, what do you say Mr Lee?

Sounded to me like Gerry was being perfectly sincere. Good of you to visit the forum to weigh in on this matter though, David.

Sincere or not apology accepted as I cba to be a bitch :)

Laughing out loud Ex of yours Garry?

Just read this and I am very impressed (and quite jelouse) this is great you grab all the characters voices perfectly and the story is really funny and the ending is just great. The only negative thing is I think its a bit short of the thirty minutes.
